Problems and solutions for booting the ISO image directly.

CD created using .iso file ignored by system

Postby dwolfer » Mon Sep 10, 2012 5:02 am

I have been creating .iso disks of linux and other programs now for quite some time. I have downloaded partedmagic .iso file and burned it to a cdrom usning the free ISO creator program that I have used successfully for quite a while now. However, after creating the disk, and trying to boot from it, my computer tries to access the cdrom and the screen goes black for a while like it is trying to access the disk. However, the computer then gives up and boots from my hard drive in Windows 7. I then redownloaded the .iso file and then created another cdrom from the new .iso image with the same results. Is the image corrupt or does anybody have any other ideas as to why this is not working?

I appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you very much.
Dave
